My name is Kumi and I'm an 18 year-old singer-songwriter from Seattle, WA living in the Chicago area. I've been playing music and writing songs since I was a little kid. I'm a big advocate for poetic storytelling through music. Over the years, I've tried many different instruments and musical experiences such as:

• playing cello and viola in school orchestra

• being a member of three rock bands (as guitarist, keyboardist, and singer!)

• performing paid gigs (and some open mics) at local venues

• recording, producing, and releasing an EP and a few singles

• having a song featured on a local radio station

• playing and singing for professional musicians' tracks

Currently, I'm working on recording as an independent artist, having fun with my current band, and learning more about production! My songs fall into the indie/alternative pop and rock genres. Hope you enjoy!
